Absolutely great app but unfortunately it has problems with 10.10 and 10.11 (doesn't start on system startup). See discussion and possible solutions at https://github.com/mbaltaks/doublecommand/issues/23

Works very well for me. Using currently with Snow Leopard and Mavericks. Easy to set up and allows adjustment of modifier keys - in my case, so Mac keyboard same as Windows. Unfortunately I have to use Windows at work and no longer able to remap keyboard there (with the tonne of encryption and other security forced on us), so had to do so on Macs at home. Keys I wished to switch, so match at home and work, are already pre-set up as simple checkbox option. Now I just have 10+ years to unlearn position of cmd key!!!

Wow. Update for 10.9 some days after I've moved to KeyRemap4MacBook (which in turn is more complete). Not going back to DC, sorry, but I must admit that it always perfromed well ever before, so I would still recommend it.

My experience was exactly similar to Jeff-H, my keyboard seized up and no keystroke would make any contact with the computer. When I went to uninstall Double Command my computer asked me for a password to trash, which I couldn't provide as my keyboard wouldn't function to let me enter it! Eventually I managed to uninstall the components from Applications, User-Preferences, ~Library/Startup Items and ~Library/Launch Items, using the computer in Target Mode (having set it with mouse-click to restart in such in System Preferences/Startup mode; and trashing the components from my laptop to which my desktop with keyboard was attached. My only comment to add is that I already had KeyRemap4MacBook installed, though i had disabled it. But perhaps the issue was a conflict there. At any rate I have gone back to using my forward-slash as forward-delete using KeyRemap4MacBook and won't let Double Command on the computer again.

I wouldn't make this a negative review as my experience may be my own and an isolated problem. DC did not work for me. It rendered the keyboard unusable, and I plugged in 3 different types to test, my Logitech solar, my aluminum BT Apple keyboard, and the Aluminum extended Apple key. I got nothing from any of them. It may be due to the several startup items and several devices (external hard drives), and two powered hubs. I had a bit of a freakout moment where I had no keys, uninstalled DouleCommand, restarted, and viola, all was right again. Again, this was my experience.
